Jeff Bosboom, MBA
Jeff has been involved with MLA since attending The Art of Leadership several years ago. The training
altered Jeff’s outlook on his life and made the decision to become active in bringing our work to more men a
simple one. “This work is so important to me and others that I just want to help the organization in any way I
can”. He is a businessman and real estate investor, active in several local non-profit organizations. Jeff holds
an MBA from the University of Denver. |

Jason Geoffrion, MA
As a teacher and mental health counselor Jason has worked with high school students and adults throughout
Minnesota, Alaska, and Colorado. Through it all he has felt a deep desire and hunger from men to have
meaningful connection with themselves and others, and has seen the dire ramifications when that connection
is absent. Jason is actively working to create spaces for men to access their authentic selves, connect
meaningfully with their communities, and discover their work in the world. He has guided wilderness trips,
camping excursions, father/son retreats and rites of passages for people of all ages. |

Ron Hoffman
Ron founded Compassionate Care ALS and has server as its Executive Director, for the past 10 years. His support for people living with ALS includes needs evaluation,
instruction on disease progression, and facilitation of intimate discussion with ALS patients and families about
end of life issues. He regularly leads in-services and trainings for hospice workers, health care professionals and
students. Ron sits on the board of Hospice and Palliative Care Federation of Massachusetts and speaks nationally on
ALS and end of life care. |

Mike Massa
Mike has owned and operated his own accounting business in Nederland, Colorado for 25 years. He lends his extensive
financial experience to several non-profit organizations in his community. He has been involved with MLA since 1995,
having attended many programs, staffed at AOLTP, and advised extensively on financial matters. He is honored to
serve MLA as a member of the Guide Council. Mike is inspired and informed by the mountains he lives in and he
revels in the support of his wife Betsy and their two sons. |

Gay Mayer
Gay is an active management consultant working with family owned businesses.
In his past career he was President of MEM Company which made fragrances like English Leather.
Now his hobbies include trail rehabilitation and hiking. Gay lives in New Jersey with his wife
of 44 years. He has two children and four grandchildren. |

Daniel Surface
Dan Surface of Daniel Surface Consulting works with nonprofits, social entrepreneurs and government agencies in the development of earned income strategies for sustainability. His work experience includes fifteen years in marketing, advertising and sales management and twenty years of nonprofit fundraising and management. This has led him professionally and philosophically to a passionate advocacy for social entrepreneurism and social enterprise as solutions to not for profit (and for profit) sustainability and equitable economic and community development. Dan is a certified SUSTYANE consultant (an intensive, accelerated method for developing social enterprise). |

James Alva Torrance “Jat.” M.S.
James is a real estate broker and executive coach in the real estate industry. As an adult student, James completed a Masters in “Mental Health Counseling” in 2008 and a Bachelors in “Organizational Science” in 2005. James is passionate about Men’s work as well as the healing of interpersonal systems in profit and non-for-profit group settings. He lives in South Florida with his partner Julie and has two children 15 and 12. |
