We have another opportunity to generate support for MLA. Our very own Gay Mayer, along with Colby Lewis, from the Berkshire Men’s Council, will be running the 13-mileRock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Half Marathon on January 18, 2009, and MLA is stepping up to sponsor Gay and Colby. Both of them have supported MLA for many years—attending and staffing programs, serving on the Guide Council, helping to envision new programs and providing program operating support for the organization. This is a great opportunity to acknowledge them and—through your sponsorship—to help the Men’s Leadership Alliance. Gay is donating 100% of any sponsorship received on his behalf. Colby is donating half of his sponsorship dollars to a friend’s college scholarship program and half to MLA.

Please contact MLA with a pledge of any size to help inspire their run. Running with the knowledge of a large circle of support is going to help them to shave a couple of minutes off their expected times.

The 2009 Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Half-Marathon is in its seventh consecutive year, with an expected 20,000 participants running on a mostly flat course through Phoenix, Arizona. The promoters describe it as the 'ultimate destination marathon', with live bands every mile There were 20 plus thousand when Gay last ran it in 2007 and the temperature at the start was 34 degrees . Gay has now run it three times and 2009 will be the 4th.
