“The easiest person to deceive is one’s own self.”
Edward George Bulwer-Lytton
4 Gateways Coaching is the coaching model MLA uses to express its holistic education self development vision. It is a simple and effective means for generating transformative experiences for anyone, anytime, anywhere. This model creates new possibilities in the moment and provides opportunities to try them out. In the end, you determine how to bring new awareness into your inner life, your relationships, your career and the world.
The 4 Gateways Personal Coaching Circle will have a trained 4G coach offering free and regular access to 4 Gateways coaching to the general community through a sharable and commitment-free circle experience. The presentation of this Circle will allow participants to keep their experience completely private, or share it with the group; like the individual experience of a Yoga class followed by an optional group share.
“Self Awareness is our capacity to stand apart from ourselves and examine our thinking, our motives, our history, our scripts, our actions, our habits and our tendencies.”
In this free offering from MLA, you will experience a process-driven container guided by certified 4 Gateways life coaches. You will arrive, learn the guidelines, meditate on a resonant concern or issue, meet others in the group and check-in at whatever level you feel comfortable. The guide will then lead you through a personal process. You will be asked (but not required) to get up, move around, privately view the concern or issue from multiple perspectives, and respond to questions through writing, artwork, internal dialogue, even muted vocal response if you wish (if online). There will be time and an invitation at the end of the session to discuss your process, if you wish to. You are welcome to engage with the group and share, check in at whatever level you feel comfortable.
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
Because this circle offers the opportunity to engage privately or interactively, you can attend as an individual, or with friends and family. Each person is responsible for choosing their own level of engagement with self and other, which acts as the first level of self care and development. The model views both our inner and outer life as a source of learning and discovery.
“How can I naturally, respectfully, and powerfully guide, assist, support, and bring out the best in myself and others?”
MLA co-founder and
author of ‘4 Gateways Coaching’
This circle includes a registration requirement, a confidentiality commitment, and your physical presence (in-person or via video picture). It is not recorded. A quiet, comfortable private space with some room to move; markers, pen and paper (or journal) and ritual elements are recommended but not required.
For those willing to take the risk, we offer the liberating and healing gift of owning our own shadows: those parts of ourselves we don’t like, repress, and judge in others. We invite you to trust those shadows as amazing resources.
